Calderstone - Project 1
The Dream
The brief was to incorporate homes for wildlife whilst providing areas for the growing family to entertain and enjoy. They also wished for something different. We gave them just that!
Our Insight
It was obvious from the offset that we needed to define areas within the relatively standard garden and create garden rooms.
The large open water areas to encourage wildlife and provide moving water, were an essential ingredient to providing something different.
A defined play area with a pathway to provide interest for the children was also incorporated into the designs.
Making The Dream A Reality
Calderstone
After setting the levels across the site the build began. The moon gates with lighting entice you into the garden and make the clients want to explore. The sound of moving water has added another dimension to the garden.
The planting was a mix of perennials and flowering shrubs to provide lots of nectar for the local wildlife with the bonus of scent and colour for the clients.
The addition of a hedgehog highway and house completed the scheme with the clients reporting several hedgehog sightings
